Stop Saving Your Best Trips for “Someday”
Your saved folder has been on enough vacations. It’s your turn.
You know exactly which friend to send the trip to.
The one who will respond, “YES! We need to do this!”
For a few glorious minutes, you’re practically packed. You’re imagining the hotel, deciding what you’d wear to dinner, and wondering whether you can convince her to leave that enormous suitcase at home.
Then you ask, “Should we book?”
And suddenly, the conversation gets quiet.
Now your vacation is waiting on her work schedule, her husband’s plans, and a decision she’ll get back to you about.
You put the trip aside.
Again.
Meanwhile, you still want to go.
You want to walk into that beautiful hotel. Taste something you’ve never ordered before. Spend an afternoon discovering a place that has lived in your imagination for years.
You want a few days where the question is, “What would you enjoy?” and you actually get to answer.
Auntie, at some point “one day” has to get a date on the calendar.
You’ve been saying “after” for a while now
After the children are settled.
After this busy season.
After retirement.
After your girlfriend gets serious about going.
There may be a very good reason you haven’t taken that trip yet. You have responsibilities, people you love, and a budget you respect.
But sometimes the circumstances change—and the trip stays on hold.
The children are grown, but now everyone needs you for something else. Retirement arrives, but the calendar fills right back up. Your friend still wants to go, just never quite when you do.
And the woman who can organize a family celebration, manage a demanding career, and remember everybody’s birthday is still saying, “I’ll figure out my vacation later.”
You are very good at making things happen.
Imagine putting some of that intention toward a trip you would love.
Picture yourself at the table
It’s the first evening.
You’ve checked into a beautiful hotel, taken your time getting dressed, and come down for dinner.
Around the table are other Black women who were ready for a change of scenery, too. Women with careers, families, opinions, stories—and a few places still on their lists.
Someone asks where you’re from. You discover a shared connection. The conversation wanders from travel to music to who brought enough clothes for three vacations.
You settle into your chair.
Tomorrow, there’s somewhere new to explore. Tonight, there’s good food and a conversation you’re enjoying.
For once, you can linger.
Nobody is waiting for you to clear the table.
That is the kind of moment worth making room for.
Your friends can love you and still miss this trip
Of course you’d enjoy having your favorite travel companion beside you.
But if she can’t come, does that have to mean you stay home?
With hosted group travel, you have another way to go. You can join a planned experience and meet women who have made the same decision: I want to be there.
You don’t have to arrive with a full table of friends to enjoy having people to share the experience with.
There can be room for your familiar friendships and new connections. For the girlfriend trip you’ll take together another time—and the adventure you’re ready to take now.
Her “maybe next year” doesn’t have to become yours.
You know what makes a trip feel good
A beautiful room matters to you. So does how you’re treated.
You want to explore the destination, experience its culture, eat well, and enjoy the company. You appreciate thoughtful organization and personal attention. You want to feel welcomed, respected, and considered.
At Auntie-Approved Adventures® by Cruise Jet Travel, those things shape the hosted group experiences we create for mature Black women.
Because the trip you’ve waited for deserves more than a pretty photograph.
It deserves experiences you’ll talk about when you get home. Meals you’ll wish you could order again. Moments when you catch yourself smiling because you’re finally there.
And yes, a few photographs so good you’ll have trouble choosing just one.
Your next “I’m going” starts here
Before you save another trip to your “one day” folder, make a little room for the possibility that you could actually be on it.
Picture your name on the reservation. Your suitcase by the door. Your calendar holding something you’re looking forward to.
This November, watch your inbox as Cruise Jet Travel begins the countdown to our Black Friday trip reveal.
And when you see the adventure that speaks to you, give your own excitement a little more consideration than the group chat’s availability.
Your next trip deserves more than “That looks nice.”
Imagine how good it will feel to say:
“I’m going.”
